Sam Raimi explains why he returned to Wonder after Wanderer-Mankin 3 repercussion
SAM Raimi has talked about returning to Marvel after backlash to Spider-Man 3. The director – who will following tackle Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Fury - previously helmed Tobey Maguire's Spider-Isle of Man trilogy, the tertiary of which was badly received by fans and critics.
"I didn't sleep with that I could face information technology again because it was so awful, having been the manager of Spider-Man 3. The Internet was acquiring revved up and citizenry dislikable that movie and they sure let me know about IT," he told Collider. "So, it was difficult to occupy back on. But then, I found out that there was an opening on Doctor Strange 2. My agent known as me and aforesaid, 'They'rhenium looking for a manager at Marvel for this movie and your name came up. Would you be interested?' And I thought, 'I wonder if I could still get it on.'"
"They're really demanding, those types of pictures," the director continued. "And I matt-up, 'Well, that's conclude sufficiency.' I've always very liked the character of Doctor Strange. He was not my favorite, but he was right up there with the favorites. I dear the primary flic, I thought [director] Scott Derrickson did a wonderful job, an undreamt of job. Thusly, I said, 'Yea.' They left the fictitious character in a great place. I didn't think I would be doing another superhero moving-picture show. it just happened."
After original managing director Derrickson stepped away from Doctor Strange 2, Raimi took over directing duties – which Colorado-writer Michael Waldron has said made the movie scarier.
Raimi isn't the only mortal from the originative Wanderer-Valet de chambre trilogy returning to Marvel, either. Alfred Molina is back as Doc Ock in Spider-Man: No Agency Home, and IT looks like Willem DaFoe is reprising his part equally Leafy vegetable Hob, along with Lowell Jackson Thomas Haden Church atomic number 3 Sandman.
